New Directory.Coop Site
Live
dotCoop is pleased to announce that the
new www.directory.coop
site is now available
Based on
feedback from .coop domain name holders as well as other users of
the previous map-based directory.coop site, which was first
launched in 2009, dotCoop has worked to make the directory more
accessible and easier to use. The website also uses Google
Translator to provide the site information in a variety of
languages.
The
map-based directory uses a geo-locator that is part of most web
browsers to orient your location; respond to the query from your
browser when you first go to the site to make it easier to perform
your searches.
The Search checks domain names, locations and
co-op names for your inquiry and responds with all results so you
can refine your results
quickly.
The
information displayed is from the Registrant Contact
information. If your information is incorrect,
you will need to update the information on your registrar's
site. It should appear almost immediately on the
directory site. If you aren't sure who your
registrar is or how to contact them, let dotCoop know and we'll
help you get the information updated.
The display
does not provide the contact individual's name, email address or
telephone number for security reasons. Visitors
can simply link through to the displayed website to use the current
information on your site. This also increase
visits to your site! And of course, please alert
us to any websites that you want to "opt-out" so they do not appear
on the directory.
In
addition, the results display any other .coop domains that you have
registered and active so that visitors can see the other programs
your co-op is promoting or supporting.
Find your
website on directory.coop and make sure your information is correct
and your website homepage is displayed. If
anything is not correct, please check with your registrar or
contact dotCoop as explained in the FAQs. We'll be happy to help
you get that information updated to make sure that people using the
directory can find you!
Don't have
an active .coop domain and don't know why?
Contact us and we'll help you find out why and help you get your
.coop domain or get the one you have activated.
Give us a call or email us.
dotCoop has
worked to respond to your concerns about directory.coop and we
would like to hear your feedback on the new directory. If there are
things that you would like to see on the directory, please let us
know. We have updates planned later in 2012 but
would love to hear your ideas as well.
