dotCoop Announces Global Awards for Co-operative Excellence

DotCoop is pleased to announce the first ever dotCoop Global Awards for Co-operative Excellence to be awarded at the 2009 ICA General Assembly in November. Recognition for Values-Based Businesses

The dotCoop Global Awards for Cooperative Excellence will recognize the application of cooperative values and principles to drive cooperative and business success. The award will be given to three co-operatives at each ICA General Assembly.

The award criteria seeks to encourage cooperatives from all sectors to examine their processes in order to compete for the award and will provide other cooperatives the opportunity to understand how cooperatives can use their differences to impact their business and their communities.

Awards will be categorized so that cooperatives of different sizes and from different sectors and locations will be able to compete successfully for the recognition to be accorded to the Award winners.

This award will focus on cooperatives as businesses that are successful because they are cooperatives.
